Detox: How complicated can it be?

Detox: How complicated can it be?

What do you know about toxins? What are they, how do they enter your body, what does your body do with them, and most importantly, how does it get them out?

People come into contact with toxins every time we go outside. They are circulating in the air we breath. Wood smoke in the winter, pollens in the spring, automobile exhaust, cleaning products and the list goes on. Toxins enter our bodies in the food we eat and the liquids we drink, and the personal care products we use.

Our bodies and wonderful machines. They are designed to process everything it comes in contact with. It processes the food we eat into nutrients we use for energy and eliminated the waste products very efficiently. The design of our bodies works wonderfully until it is overworked with excess from our habits and our environment. Then we become toxic. You may recognize some of the symptoms of  toxicity, they include but are not limited to:

  • Fatigue
  • Brain fog
  • Can't concentrate
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Allergies
  • Constipation
  • Diaherra
  • Hormone imbalance
  • Anxiety/depression
  • Rashes/ hives
  • Headaches

Any of these things look familiar? They can be so common you think they are normal. These symptoms are not normal. We can get into toxicity trouble by eating processed food and by being around and using chemicals.

Supporting your liver, kidneys, and intestine with the proper nutrients that they need to work efficiently is key. Doing a fasting detox is more harmful than beneficial to your system. Detoxification takes energy and nutrients to be effective. A wide variety of green, leafy vegetables, naturally colorful foods, as well as fiber sources and herbs, will optimize the bodies detoxification process.

We are changing our habits together. Starting January 29, 2018, we are starting a 21-day purification program. We have done this before and we are doing it again. After 20 years as a healthcare provider, this is the BEST program I have found. Take the quiz and join us. Reply to my email here.

Take this "Toxicity Questionnaire" to find out how toxic you are.

I am mind blown right now! I did my weight and measurements tonight at the end of my day 8 and I've lost 9 lbs and 5 inches! I swear my jaw dropped to the floor because I was praying for at least 3 lbs. If I needed extra motivation to resist temptation, tonight was an extreme inspiration for me! I feel I could be an infomercial actor right now cuz I am standing by this process full force! Haha

Losing Your Memory, Are You Sleeping?

Sleep, it's so important for a lot of things but studies have shown it is vital for your memory and brain health. A study in 2013 discusses sleeps role in memory. It is during sleep that you regenerate your body as well as your brain both physically and emotionally. During sleep you get rid of all the waste products and neurotoxins that build up, eliminating Beta Amyloid plaques that are implicated in  Alzheimer's Disease. There is a system that distributes nutrients and neurotransmitters while you sleep that is not active while you are awake. That is why sleep is so important! April Showers, Vitamin D and Depression.

April Showers, Right? What About Vitamin D and Depression? It's raining again and I'm still loving it. Wells are filling, reservoirs are filling, and the flowers are going to be stunning. This year California is getting record rainfall. According to California's water resources index, 90 inches so far in the Sierra Nevadas. Rainfall is great but that means it has to rain and that means people don't get out in the sun and get their vitamin D. Vitamin D is also called Cholecalciferol. You get Vitamin D from the sun. Your skin converts the ultra violet rays to Vitamin D. I know I haven't been outside with this rain. The sun only peeks through the clouds once in a while. The best time to expose yourself to sunlight is at 12 noon for half an hour as much skin as possible to the sun, ideally naked. A lot of people have trouble with that conversion. If you always wear sunscreen, have darker skin or never go in the sun, are pregnant or obese you may be deficient. Vit
